W G Martinick (B.Sc, Ph.D, FAusIMM)
Non Executive Chairman
Dr Wolf Martinick was appointed a Director and Chairman on 13 January 2003. He has been involved with mineral exploration and mining projects around the world, especially Australasia, Africa, China, India and parts of the former Soviet Union.
Dr Martinick is a founding Director and the Chairman of Weatherly International plc, a company listed on the London AIM stock exchange. He was a founding Director of ASX listed Basin Minerals Limited, that discovered a world-class mineral sands project in Victoria (Aust.) and acquired by Iluka Resources Limited.
He has been associated with the exploration and mining industry for over 40 years. He has particular experience in environmental, water, land access and indigenous people issues and has conducted due diligence on mining projects around the world.
D Bright (Geol, Zoo, MAIG)
Acting Chief Executive Officer
Mr Bright is a geologist and geochemist with 35 years of mining and exploration experience in Australia and overseas. He was a founding director and non-executive Chairman of Argentina Mining Limited, a company established to develop five Cu-Au porphyry and vein project areas in San Juan Province, Argentina. Mr Bright is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Association of Exploration Geochemists. Through his consultancy Geochemex Australia and work as Operations Director of Oroya Mining Limited Mr Bright has considerable specific experience in many aspects of mining, exploration, with a special interest in geochemical exploration, and corporate management.
B D Dickson (B. Bus, FCPA)
Company Secretary and Finance Director
Mr Brett Dickson has over 20 years’ experience focusing on the start-up, restructuring, management, growth and financing of emerging publicly listed exploration and mining companies, including projects advancing from exploration through development to production. This experience ranges through a spectrum of activities; from capital and debt raisings, corporate restructuring and stock exchange listings. He has been a Director of, and involved in the executive management of, a number of publicly listed resource companies with operations in Australia, Nicaragua, Chile, Mexico, Finland, Ukraine, Laos, Papua New Guinea and South Africa.
Mr Dickson has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants. He has been Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a number of successful resource companies listed on the ASX. Mr Dickson was appointed a Director of Oro Verde on 21 November 2014 and is also a director of Rox Resources Limited.
B L Farrell (B.Sc (Hons Econ Geol), M.Sc, Ph.D, FAusIMM, MICA, CPGeol, MIMM, CEng.)
Non-Executive Director
Dr Brad Farrell was appointed a director on 8 August 2011. He is a highly qualified and experienced geologist with over 40 years’ experience in resource exploration and senior project management and evaluation. During this time he has managed numerous and extensive exploration programs within Australia and overseas for a variety of mineral commodities for both major and junior exploration companies. Some of these programs have resulted in significant discoveries, which are currently in production or will see future production.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, a Chartered Professional Geologist of that body, Member of Mineral Industry Consultants Association, a Member of the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy and a Chartered Engineer of that body. Dr Farrell was the founding Chairman and Managing Director of Basin Minerals Limited and was responsible for the discovery of the Douglas world class mineral sands deposit that was acquired by Iluka Minerals Limited.
A P Rovira (BSc (Hons), MAusIMM)
Non Executive Director
Mr Rovira has over 30 years technical and management experience in the mining industry, as an exploration and mining geologist, and as a company executive at Board level. He has worked for companies both large and small, including BHP, Barrack Mines, Pegasus Gold and Jubilee Mines. Mr Rovira was the General Manager of Exploration with Jubilee Mines, during which time he led the team that discovered and developed the world class Cosmos and Cosmos Deeps nickel sulphide deposits in Western Australia. In 2000, the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies awarded Tony the “Prospector of the Year Award” for those discoveries.
Currently Mr Rovira is the Managing Director of Azure Minerals Limited a company which is actively exploring in Mexico and his knowledge of Latin America and networks are of significant benefit to the Company. He was appointed a Director of Oro Verde on 21 November 2014.
